Havana Grill
It’s taken me awhile to finally get to Havana Grill, but I’m so glad I did. Back in April Maggie commented on my blog saying I should check out this Cuban Restaurant in Cary. I kept trying to go and it never seemed to work out. In June one of my friends, who is part Cuban, told me about the same restaurant. We decided it would be great to get a group of friends from Church together and head to Cary for some Cuban food. So we finally found some time to go a couple weeks ago! It started out as a couple friends going for Cuban food, to 25 going for food and loving the DJ and dance floor!
Havana Grill is in Cary close to historic downtown. It was raining the night we went and I almost passed it as we were driving in because it’s not a very big place. The really nice thing about it is though they have a large covered deck/pavilion on the side of the restaurant. You walk in and the counter is directly in front of you. You can order one of their many items off of the menu or you can choose from the food they have on the buffet. It’s not a self serve buffet but you just tell the friendly folks what you want. I couldn’t decide what I wanted off the menu so I went ahead and chose something from the bar, I’m more of a visual person anyway.
I ended up getting their chicken/cheese/and rice meal (there’s a cuban name for it, but I can’t remember what it was) with a choice of 2 sides. They had a lot of Cuban choices to choose from, but I ended up going with the fruit and salad, guess I wasn’t feeling very adventurous that night. It was all really good though! My friend had a cuban sandwich which I also tried and enjoyed!
Right when we were finishing up dinner the DJ came out and started playing some music. It was great, there was a dance floor where you could get up and show off your moves! We of course not having any moves just got up there and had some fun. I definitely recommend going to Havana Grill..especially on a Friday Night when you can have great food and then lots of fun!
